Guilds privacy notice
Updated 6 November 2026
Who looks after your data
Guilds is a game made by Bitgate. This notice covers the Guilds apps for Android, iPhone and iPad, and the browser version at guilds.gg. Bitgate is the data controller.
For a privacy question or request, email info@bitgate.com. For anything else, use partners@bitgate.com.
What the game uses
- Your account. The apps sign you in as a guest the first time you open them, through Google Firebase Authentication, which gives your account an identifier. The credentials that let you back into that account are stored on your device. The browser version also offers Google sign-in; if you use it, Firebase handles your Google profile as part of signing in, and we never receive your Google password.
- Your character. The game server links your account identifier to your character and saves its progress: name, position and world, items, progression, playtime and recent activity. Account records can also include moderation restrictions and their reasons.
- Other players. Guilds is multiplayer, so your character and what it does are visible to other players in the same world. Keep personal information out of your character name.
- Crash and performance reports. When the game crashes or hits an error, it sends us a technical report: the error and where in the code it happened, recent engine log lines, the app version, your operating system and device model, frame-time statistics and a random ID for that play session. These reports are not linked to your account.
- On your device. The game keeps its sign-in state, settings and downloaded game files on your device.
Everything the game sends travels encrypted. Guilds shows no ads, uses no advertising ID, does not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your data.
Who handles it
- Cloudflare delivers the game files and runs our web services.
- Google Firebase handles sign-in and account security. Google states that Firebase Authentication runs in US data centres.
- Our game server and database hosting runs the multiplayer world and stores accounts and character progress for Bitgate.
- Google Play distributes the Android app under Google's own privacy policy.
- Apple distributes the iPhone and iPad app through the App Store and TestFlight under Apple's own privacy policy. Feedback and crash reports you choose to send through TestFlight reach us through Apple.
We use this data to run sign-in, the multiplayer world and your saved progress, to keep the game working, and to investigate crashes, faults and abuse. If you email us, we receive your message and contact details so we can reply.
Delete your Guilds account and data
To have your Guilds account, character and saved progress deleted:
- Email info@bitgate.com with the subject Delete my Guilds account.
- Include your character name, whether you play on Android, iPhone, iPad or in the browser, and whether you play as a guest or with Google. Never send passwords or sign-in tokens.
- We may ask you to confirm the request from the device or Google account you play with. Once confirmed, we delete your account, character and progress within 30 days.
Moderation records about serious abuse can be kept for up to 12 months after deletion to stop it happening again. Crash reports are not linked to an account and are deleted on their own within 90 days. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes the guest credentials from your device, but does not delete your records on our servers; email us for that.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to its processing, or receive a copy. Send requests to info@bitgate.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Guilds is not directed at children under 13.
